Confirming Your Place in the Next Cohort
How to confirm or decline your place in the next cohort, share your availability and goals, and choose whether to continue each mentoring relationship. A MentorStack help center guide.
When your program prepares its next cohort, you may be asked to confirm that you will take part. You answer on one page. You say whether you will participate, whether you are available, what you want to work on, and whether you want to continue each current relationship.
Your program admin sets the cohort up. See Cohorts for the admin side.
Open the confirmation page
You get an email with the subject Confirm your participation in followed by the cohort name. Click Review this cohort in the email. The link opens the confirmation page for that cohort in MentorStack.
If you are not signed in, sign in first.
Confirm or decline
- Under Will you take part?, choose I will participate in this cohort or I cannot participate in this cohort.
- Under Availability, choose I am available for this cohort or I am not available.
- In What do you want to work on?, write your goals for the cohort. Put each goal on its own line. You can enter up to 20 goals of up to 1,000 characters each.
- Under Your continuing relationships, choose one option for every relationship listed. For each one, pick Continue or Do not continue for that relationship type (1:1, Reverse, Group, or Circle). The list shows who you are paired with.
- Click Confirm my participation. If you chose to decline, the button reads Decline this cohort.
A Participation confirmed message appears when your answers are saved.
Note
The page says "This updates only your cohort enrollment. It does not change your program role." Your answers apply to this cohort only.
Continuing relationships
Each person in a relationship chooses for themselves. The page says "A coordinator cannot choose for you." The submit button stays disabled and the page shows Choose whether to continue each relationship. until you have picked an option for every relationship.
New relationships planned for you
If the admin planned a new pair for you that you request yourself, the page also shows Your planned new relationships. Click Request followed by the format and the person's name to send the request. You can only do this after you confirm your participation. Until then the button is off and the page says Confirm your participation before creating this request. After you send it, the page shows Request awaiting review. and a Review link to the request. A Match request sent or Reverse mentoring request sent message confirms it.
Change your answer
You can return to the same page and submit again while the cohort is still being prepared. The page shows your saved answers.
Warning
The page is only available while the admin is still preparing the cohort. Once the admin launches the cohort, or if the admin changes the preparation after you opened the page, a save can fail with Cohort enrollment not found. Reload the page to see the latest version, or ask your admin.
Why the page might not open
If you are not enrolled in a cohort preparation, or the cohort has already launched, the confirmation link shows a not-found page. If you were invited as a newcomer, accept your organization invitation first. Ask your program admin if the link still does not work.
