What the Copilot is not
The AI Copilot is not a chatbot, not a replacement for the mentor, and not something participants need to interact with directly. It runs in the background and surfaces information at the right moment: before a session, after a session, or when something needs admin attention.
Participants can choose to ignore prep briefs and summaries entirely. The mentoring relationship stays human. The AI handles the parts that were previously friction: scheduling context and note-taking.
Your program data is never used to train AI models.

- What does the MentorStack AI Copilot do?
- The AI Copilot writes a prep brief before each session, a summary after each logged session, goal suggestions at program start, and an ongoing skill gap analysis. It supports the mentoring relationship by taking over scheduling context and note-taking, so participants spend their time on the conversation itself.
- Is the AI Copilot a chatbot that participants must use?
- The AI Copilot is not a chatbot, and participants do not need to interact with it. It runs in the background and surfaces information at the right moment, such as before or after a session. Participants can ignore prep briefs and summaries entirely, and the mentoring relationship stays human.
- Do AI Copilot features use AI credits?
- AI features draw on each person's own monthly AI credits. The Free Pilot includes 8 credits per person per month, Starter gets 25, Growth gets 40, and Enterprise gets 50 by default. Credits reset monthly on your billing date (the signup date on the Free Pilot) and do not roll over. The core program keeps running when credits run out.
- Can Claude or another AI assistant connect to my program data?
- MentorStack has a native MCP server, so Claude and other MCP-compatible assistants can query live program data on every plan, including the Free Pilot. Report, scheduled report and diversity tools follow the same plan limits as the web app, so some calls return a plan-limit message on lower plans.
