Following Learning Pathways
How to work through assigned learning pathways and track your progress
Learning Pathways are structured guides created by your program admin to help you develop specific skills or work through a curriculum alongside your mentoring.
Finding Your Pathways
Pathways assigned to you appear in two places:
- Your dashboard — The Learning Pathways section shows active pathways with your current progress
- The Pathways page — A full list of all pathways available to you, including ones you can self-assign
How Pathways Work
Each pathway is a sequence of steps — ordered activities designed to build on each other. A step typically includes:
- Title and description — What you need to learn or do
- Resources — Links to articles, videos, documents, or external materials to help you complete the step
- A milestone — A concrete objective to complete before moving to the next step
You work through steps in order, marking each as complete when you've finished it.
Working Through a Pathway
- Open the pathway from your dashboard or the Pathways page.
- Read the current step's description and review any linked resources.
- Complete the activity or milestone described in the step.
- Click Mark Complete to advance to the next step.
- Repeat until you've finished the pathway.
Tip
Discuss pathway steps with your mentor during meetings. They can help you understand resources, work through challenges, and connect the material to your personal goals.
Tracking Your Progress
Each pathway shows a progress bar indicating how many steps you've completed. Your mentor and program admin can also see your progress, so they can offer support if you get stuck.
Self-Assigning Pathways
If your program allows it, you can browse available pathways and assign them to yourself. Look for the Browse Pathways section on the Pathways page to see what's available.
Note
Pathways are optional guides, not rigid requirements. If a step doesn't feel relevant, discuss it with your mentor — they can help you decide whether to skip it or adapt it to your situation.
Tips for Success
- Don't rush — Pathways are designed to be completed over time, not in a single sitting
- Use the resources — The linked materials are curated for a reason; engage with them
- Ask questions — If a step is confusing, message your mentor or bring it up in your next meeting
- Connect to goals — Think about how each step relates to the goals you've set for yourself
