How does reverse mentoring work in MentorStack?
In reverse mentoring the junior person mentors the senior person, for example on tools, new ways of working or how a different part of the business sees things. An admin can propose the match, or a member can self-nominate as a reverse mentor. The other side then accepts it, the same way as any other match.
How does group mentoring work?
In a group match one mentor guides several mentees at the same time. The group has one place to message and meet. It suits a mentor with limited time, or a topic several people need at once, such as a first-time manager cohort. Matching still scores skills, goals, seniority and availability.
How is group mentoring different from a circle?
A group has one designated mentor and several mentees. A circle is a peer group with no designated mentor. A circle can have an optional facilitator, who is either fixed or rotates weekly, every two weeks or monthly. Choose a group when expertise flows one way, and a circle when peers learn from each other.
Which plan runs reverse and group mentoring?
All four formats, which are 1:1, group, circle and reverse, run on every plan, including the Free Pilot. The Free Pilot covers up to 10 participants at $0 with no time limit. It allows 2 active matches per person and 2 goals per match. Starter removes the match limit and adds reporting and export.
For format design, read the mentoring formats overview, circles vs group mentoring and the reverse mentoring program guide. You can start on the Free Pilot and test one format first.
Common questions
- Can MentorStack run reverse mentoring?
- MentorStack runs reverse mentoring, where a junior colleague mentors a senior one. An admin can propose the pairing, or a team member can self-nominate as a reverse mentor to a senior colleague, who then accepts. It is one of four formats, and a Reverse Mentoring program template is included.
- How does group mentoring work in MentorStack?
- In group mentoring one mentor guides several mentees. A group holds up to 8 mentees by default, configurable up to 50. Sessions are group meetings, though one-to-one check-ins remain available. It suits cases where mentor capacity is limited but demand is high.
- Which other mentoring formats does MentorStack support?
- MentorStack also runs classic 1:1 pairs and Circles. A Circle is a peer group of 2 to 20 people with no designated mentor, and it can use a facilitator role that is fixed, passed manually, or rotated weekly, biweekly or monthly. Admins can mix formats inside one program.
- Do reverse and group mentoring need a paid plan?
- All four formats work on the Free Pilot, which covers up to 10 participants at no cost and with no time limit. Formats are not held back by plan. Paid plans add reporting, export and integrations, not extra formats, so a small team can test any format first.
